Bowed Prepared Electric Guitar: Tuning: D-A-D-A-A-D Materials Needed: heavily rosined violin bow 2 solid brass rods, 12" long, 1/32" diameter 2 lengths of 30lb monofilament fishing line, 12-18" long 2 lengths of 28 gauge steel wire, 12-18" long The fishing line, steel wire and brass rods can be found at any hardware store. Preparations: Lay instrument flat in front of player. One of the brass rods should be threaded over low D string, under the middle four strings and over the high D string, at the nut. The majority of the rod (7-8") should be on the left side of the instrument (see diagram 1). It is this longer side that should be bowed with the violin bow.
