Details
"Tree ferns are being cultivated in Scotland. They are huge ferns that look like trees. The 2nd movement of this piece is a lament for Elisabeth McLeod, the composers aunt. It is based on a scottish traditional. The piece requires the use of three guitars, one of which is a small metal string acoustic. The piece uses dramatic scordaturas, and two tiny amps produce a very typical sound."
